Asana — Yoga Postures

Live better in your body.

Many people think yoga is just the physical practice of the forms. Actually there is much more to yoga. Yoga is a practice of awareness. The physical practice, asanas, came about to help students sit for meditation.

Asanas can help to release tension, build strength and reduce pain in some cases. My teaching style is slow and with lots of alignment cues. We all have issues either physical, mental or emotional in nature. Yoga helps to bring the person back to a greater state of balance.

I have adapted my practice to safely support my body with my issues and I would like to help you find a practice that works for you. Yoga is good for everybody but not all yoga is always good.

Lets tailor your asana practice so you can live better in your body.

Pranayama — Energy Control

Tap into your energy.

Energy control is at the heart of yoga and your breath is fundamental. Yoga has many different breath techniques. Pranayama can be either balancing, up regulating or down regulating for the nervous system and our bodily functions.

Learning how to breath diagphramatically can be a revelation if the student has found themselves constantly in a different breath pattern.

Pranayama is the gateway to meditation and preparing the body and mind for meditation. Learn the tools of pranayama. You always have your breath and its available anytime and is free.

Meditation

Find your true nature.

Do you feel stressed or anxiety from time to time OR maybe all the time? Meditation has been the most profound tool for me personally for anxiety. Once someone learns the simple techniques the rest is just creating a practice so you can stay consistent. Consistency is where you will feel the benefits of the practice. Meditation lowers the heart rate, increases your self awareness, can help with insomnia, concentration, reduces negative emotions and increases creativity and intuition.

There are multiple styles of meditation out there, finding one that resonates with you will help you stay consistent. Paramahansa Yogananda brought meditation techniques to this country in the 1920’s. His style of meditation is what I consistently practice and love sharing with students.

Lifestyle

Create balance.

Your lifestyle can greatly impact your health; from our eating habits, movement habits and sleeping habits. It is about the environments we surround ourselves in day in and day out that can matter. Simple lifestyle changes can make a major impact in your health.

I would love to work with you to help unravel where simple changes can make an impact.
